The annual University of Utah Inter-Tribal Pow Wow was held last Saturday, with tribes from all over the West participating in the all-day dance competitions and activities. I went down to see some old friends dance and to snap some photos and, of course, eat some fry bread. Which was delicious. It’s kind of difficult to get a good balance of firmness, chewyness and fluffyness in fry bread, but this was definitely tsaan yukutekkappeha. Anywho, check out some snapshots of the dances below, which include men’s fancy dance, traditional, grass dance, jingle dance, and women’s traditional and fancy.
