Chechnya, French Gangsters, Musicians, Dogs, Celebrities and a Dead Fly. That Is All.

OK, so I don’t necessarily have anything new this week, but there was tons of fantastic stuff that popped up on the Interwebs that needs your attention. So check out the links below and see you next week.

What does someone with a Master’s degree in cello performance do with a camera? Well, his name is Nikolaj Lund and he does this.

Very French Gangsters may seem like a paradox, but it’s actually a French kids eyewear company with a pretty clever ad campaign. Check out the photos and keep up the good looks, kids, you’re looking tres slick. Even if your glasses do cost more than half my share of the rent.

Boston’s The Big Picture blog recently featured a collection of intimate documentary photos on the plight of Chechen women. Diana Markosian has spent the last year and a half working on her personal project of examining the lives of young women in Chechnya, a region most known for its war and turmoil. Goodbye My Chechnya reveals the constant struggle of women in the region to be taken seriously, make their own decisions and try to live life on their terms.

The Adventures of Mr. Fly: A photographic saga by Nicholas Hendrickx about the escapades of a dead fly in a miniature world built just for him.

If you haven’t seen Carli Davidson’s dog-tastic pieces “Shake” and “Pets with Disabilities,” you should at least take a look at her newest project “Fetch,” a somewhat gravity-defying display of man’s best friend playing their favorite game.

And, of course, we can’t leave out another Cracked classic: 14 Photographs That Shatter Your Image of Famous People. (I would say slightly NSFW due to Winston Churchill penis and Mr. Rogers giving all y’all the bird).

You can always take another look at the photos from Japanfest Nihon Matsuri I uploaded last week.
